1. Your Data, Your Choice
Your employment information belongs to you. BAASIL securely stores your information to help manage your Employment Journey. You may update, download or request deletion of your information at any time, subject to legal requirements.
2. What BAASIL stores
- Your profile and contact details (name, email, phone, address).
- Your resume history — every version you save.
- Your work history, duties, skills, qualifications, licences and certifications.
- Applications you track and their progress.
- Interview practice sessions and Interview Coach scores.
- Employment Readiness signals and Daily Missions.
- Coach recommendations, notes and messages you have chosen to share.
- Basic device information so BAASIL loads correctly and stays secure.
3. Why BAASIL stores this information
BAASIL is your long-term Employment Companion. We store this information so BAASIL can personalise your resume, suggest the right jobs, remind you about licence renewals and interviews, prepare you for interviews, and share your progress with any Employment Coach you have authorised. Together this becomes your Employment Journey — a living employment profile that grows with you throughout your career.
4. How your information is protected
Your account is protected by industry-standard authentication and encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). Access to your information inside BAASIL is restricted to systems and staff that need it to keep the service running for you. We regularly review our security controls.
5. Who can access your information
Only you, and the Employment Coaches or Mentors you have explicitly connected, can see your Employment Companion. BAASIL staff may access your information only when needed to resolve a support request or maintain the service. BAASIL never sells your information and never shares it with employers, recruiters or partners without your consent.
6. How Employment Coaches access your information
An Employment Coach or Mentor can only see your Employment Companion after you have connected them from inside your account using their Coach Public Code. You can review, limit or remove that access from your account at any time. Coaches agree to a separate set of confidentiality and acceptable-use obligations before being granted access.
7. Employment Notifications
BAASIL may contact you by email, SMS, in-app notification or similar methods with information directly related to supporting your employment journey — including job opportunities, resume updates, interview reminders, licence renewals, training recommendations, Employment Coach communications and platform updates.
You choose which notifications you receive during registration and inside My Companion Preferences. You can manage or unsubscribe from optional notifications at any time.
8. Exporting your data
You can download your resume versions and key employment records at any time from inside your account. For a full export of your Employment Journey, contact BAASIL support through the Help section of your account.
9. Deleting your account
You can request permanent deletion of your BAASIL account and all associated information at any time through BAASIL support. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Some records may be retained where the law requires (for example, tax or regulatory obligations) — we will only keep the minimum necessary and delete the rest.
10. Retention and backups
We keep your information while your account is active so BAASIL can keep helping you across your career. Encrypted backups are kept for a limited period to protect against data loss, then automatically removed. When you delete your account, your information is removed from active systems immediately and from backups within the normal backup rotation.
11. Third-party services
BAASIL works with trusted providers for hosting, authentication (including Google sign-in), analytics and job-board integrations such as SEEK, Indeed, Jora, Gumtree and Google Maps. Where you choose to interact with those services, their own privacy policies also apply.
12. Your rights under Australian privacy law
You have the right to access the personal information BAASIL holds about you, to ask us to correct it, and to make a complaint if you believe your privacy has been mishandled. BAASIL handles personal information consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
13. Contact
For anything privacy related, contact the BAASIL support team through the Help section of your account. We aim to respond within a few business days.
